Post-Construction Site Decontamination and Cleaning – Castle Hill

January 14, 20262 min read

Following recent repair works at Castle Hill, the occupants became concerned about residual dust and debris left behind throughout multiple internal areas. Given the potential impact on indoor air quality and health, they requested professional decontamination and detailed cleaning to ensure the property was safe and hygienic.

Incident Overview

The customer advised that construction and repair activities had resulted in dust settling across several parts of the home, including the toilet connected to the laundry, laundry, kitchen, living and dining areas, and the garage. Upon arrival, our team completed a full walkthrough with the customer to confirm the scope of work and identify all areas requiring decontamination.

Assessment and Findings

The garage was identified as requiring cleaning due to dust accumulation from the repair works. Dust and debris were observed across both high and low surfaces, including floors, window frames and sills, blinds, cabinet tops, appliances, and areas behind large fixtures such as the washing machine and refrigerator.

Our Decontamination Process

Before commencing works, all tools and equipment were decontaminated to minimise the risk of cross-contamination. Decontamination began with a full H-Class HEPA vacuum of the entire property, targeting all floors, blinds, window frames, cabinet tops, and hard-to-reach areas where dust had built up over time.

Following vacuuming, all hard surfaces were wiped down using a hospital-grade disinfectant, including kitchen cabinetry, window surrounds, appliance areas, furniture surfaces, and other affected zones. A second HEPA vacuum of the floors was then carried out to capture any remaining fine particulate matter, after which all floors were mopped with hospital-grade disinfectant to complete the process. The garage was also HEPA vacuumed as part of the agreed scope.

The Result

All identified areas were successfully decontaminated in line with the agreed scope of works, removing residual dust and debris left behind from the repair activities. The property was returned to a clean, hygienic condition, giving the occupants peace of mind that indoor air quality and surface contamination concerns had been properly addressed.
